A calm, comfortable visit for patients with dental anxiety
Oral sedation is a prescription sedative taken by mouth before your appointment. It helps you feel calm and drowsy during treatment while you can still respond to your dental team. It works well for patients with moderate dental anxiety or longer appointments.
Nitrous, oral, and IV sedation are all available at FLOSS Dental of Tomball. Sedation is provided by Dr. Mike Tran, who holds a Level 3 sedation permit from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Compare options: IV sedation and nitrous sedation.
Before recommending oral sedation, Dr. Tran reviews your health history and current medications to make sure it is safe for you. If oral sedation isn’t the right fit, we can talk through nitrous or IV sedation instead.
You will receive clear instructions on when to take your medication and whether to avoid food or drink beforehand. A responsible adult must drive you to and from your appointment. Plan to rest for the rest of the day, and do not drive or make important decisions until the next day.
